Get Creative and Go Green at Boso Studio!

Here at Boso Studio, we’re passionate about fostering creativity but also care deeply about the impact pottery has on our environment. That’s why we’re launching our Go Green initiative, designed to encourage sustainable practices in our studio and reduce waste.

What is the Go Green?

It’s simple! When you sign up for any of our pottery classes, you have the option to opt out of firing your pots. By choosing this eco-friendly option, you’ll help us reduce our energy consumption, material usage and overall environmental footprint.

Here’s the sweet deal: As a thank you, we’ll offer you a 10% refund on your class fee. We will then recycle your clay to be used by another student. The beautiful thing about clay is that it can be used over and over again! 

Why Go Green?

Clay is a natural material, dug out from the ground, which has taken thousands of years to form. Firing pottery requires a significant amount of energy. We find that only around 50% of our beginner students come back to collect their pots. 

Sadly, uncollected, fired pots then end up in the landfill. And because fired clay does not biodegrade, they will stay around for thousands of years.  

By opting out of firing your pots, you can still enjoy the fun of making, but also having a positive impact on the environment. This small step can collectively contribute to a significant reduction in our studio’s carbon footprint.

• Sustainable enthusiasts: Anyone who wants to make conscious choices and minimise their environmental impact.
• Just playing! Enjoy the experience, have fun and play with some mud. This can be surprisingly freeing if you’re not bothered about the end result.
